Frank Lampard has hailed Jack Harrison as one of the MLS players he’s been most impressed with this season and tipped the New York youngster for a big career.
The Chelsea legend is doing some impressing himself in the Big Apple as City look to challenge for honours at the end of the campaign.
He’s been grabbing headlines for his 11 goals so far this campaign, including a brilliant double as New York beat DC United 3-2 in their last outing.
But Lampard has some high praise for team-mate Harrison too, including the English winger amongst the most impressive players in MLS so far this term.
Harrison was number one pick at the SuperDraft last December and has played well in his first season despite missing the first three months through injury.
The former Manchester United youngster has scored three goals and made three assists in 15 appearances.
‘Huge career’
Lampard was asked for the MLS player he’s been most impressed with during an #AskLampard Q&A this week and that’s where he heaped praise on Harrison.
He said, via New York’s YouTube channel: “The one I’m going to really pick is very close to home and that’s Jack Harrison.
“Young English boy in our team, came into the team midway through the season due to injury and completely changed things for us with brilliant pace, energy and skill on the wing for us.
“I think Jack’s got a huge career in the game.”
High praise indeed.
And judging by this, we reckon Harrison is a big fan of Lampard too:
