Mark Warburton Hits Back at Chris Sutton with Some Strong Words of His Own

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has hit back at former Celtic striker and BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton, saying he only values the opinions of people whom he has one iota of respect for.

Before Celtic’s televised match against Inverness on Sunday, outspoken pundit Sutton was hard on Warburton and his misfiring Gers side, saying the Ibrox job was too big for the former Brentford coach – before adding that Joey Barton should be sacked.

Barton was suspended for three weeks by Rangers earlier today, but whilst Warburton wouldn’t make any comment on that particular issue, he did have some words prepared for Sutton:

Following Saturday’s 0-0 draw at home to Ross County, Warburton goes into the perhaps the most crucial week of his time in Glasgow thus far, with a home match against in-form Queen of the South in the League Cup tomorrow evening, before a crunch clash with Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday.

We can’t wait to hear Sutton’s response to Warburton’s press conference today.

What do you make of the spat?
