Patrick Bamford has explained why he liked Arsenal celebration posts on Instagram after their win over Chelsea – and we’re not buying it.
The English striker is currently on a season-long loan at Burnley from the Blues and has made just two appearances for his new club.
He’ll be hoping to impress with the Clarets after goalless loan spells at Crystal Palace and Norwich last term and prove to Chelsea that he’s good enough to return and challenge for a place in Antonio Conte’s squad.
But Bamford’s recent Instagram activity suggests he’s not too fussed about Chelsea.
One eagle-eyed supporter spotted that the former Nottingham Forest striker had liked celebration posts from Arsenal players Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin after their dominant 3-0 win over the Stamford Bridge side on Saturday evening:
EEISHHH @Patrick_Bamford Can you explain this ?
You seems excited about the Assnal win. Imo pic.twitter.com/fXwTUNPYG2

That hasn’t gone down well with any of the Chelsea supporters who pay attention to that sort of thing.
Explanation
So Bamford felt he needed to explain himself – but we’re not buying his reason for liking both pictures:
Wth regards 2the Instagram pics I liked, was only liking my friends pics as I've done many a time. No shade or disrespect intended. Sorry!

Since when were Ozil and Bellerin his friends? That’s a football friendship we know absolutely nothing about if they are.
Bamford has a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2018, but consistent loan spells out of the club over the last four years suggest he may have to find a permanent home away from the club sooner rather than later.
