Rangers v Celtic Confirmed For New Year’s Eve.. No-One Can Believe it

The next game between Rangers and Celtic has been confirmed to take place on Hogmanay (New Year’s Eve) and absolutely no-one can believe it.

We only had the first of this fixture on Saturday, with the Hoops emerging as 5-1 winners in a game which had many talking points – including the actions of both sets of supporters.

But already focus will turn to the next game, with the teams set to meet on Hogmanay at 12.15pm:

The game had initially been planned to take place on December 31st, but many may have expected it to be confirmed for January 2nd once the New Year celebrations had finished.

That’s not the case – and Scotland’s two biggest teams will now face off on the same day the whole world celebrates the turn of the year.

As you can expect, no-one can quite believe that the game has been confirmed for that day given the off-field issues which usually surround this fixture.

And the Twitter reaction is pretty entertaining:

We want to hear from both sets of fans – is this a good idea?

We’ve got a Celtic fan and a Rangers man in as guests to look back on the big result at Parkhead, plus much more from the SPFL:
