Everton striker Romelu Lukaku fired his side to victory over Sunderland on Monday night – before leaving fans and onlookers absolutely baffled by claiming he wants to be more like a serial killer.
After a drab first-half during the Premier League match at Sunderland, Toffees striker Lukaku scored an 11-minute hat-trick at the Stadium of Light to ensure all three points were heading back to Merseyside, and ended his scoring drought which dated back 13 league matches.
It was a fabulous display by the Belgian – who also scored twice for his country last week – and he seemed to be in buoyant mood when interviewed by the Sky Sports cameras afterwards.
Although when asked about why he’d gone so long without finding the net, he simply replied that he had to be “like a serial killer”.
The comment didn’t go unnoticed on social media – and just about no-one had any idea what he was on about:
