If Real Madrid want to sign Thibaut Courtois in the future, they’ve gone old school in their approach to wooing the Chelsea goalkeeper.
The Belgian goalkeeper spoke to Marca recently and waxed lyrical about his old club Atletico Madrid and returning to Spain later in his career.
But he also had some kind words for Real Madrid, praising them for the well wishes they sent him after he suffered a serious knee injury last season.
According to Courtois, the Spanish giants faxed him to wish him a speedy recovery – and, as Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph points out, who actually faxes anymore?
Interesting Courtois quote in interview with Marca: "Real Madrid showed me a very nice gesture when I injured my knee last year…..1/2

….."they sent me a fax to wish me a speedy recovery." A) Who sends faxes any more? and B) not sure Chelsea will be impressed by that

Still, regardless of the method, you can’t help but think that Real’s message may have had more meaning to it.
Madrid have Keylor Navas as their number one at the moment, but almost replaced him with David de Gea just over a year ago.
If they decide that Navas is no longer the right man to replace Iker Casillas over the long term then going after Courtois would make sense considering he’s one of the world’s best goalkeepers and is only 24.
But sending a fax to wish him well? Real Madrid need to get with the times!
