Coach Says Maxi Lopez is So Overweight It’s Like He Has a Washing Machine on His Back

Torino boss Sinisa Mihajlovic claims former Barcelona frontman Maxi Lopez is seven kilos overweight and that he currently resembles a washing machine.

…nothing like some friendly encouragement from your manager, eh?

Lopez has made two appearances for Torino so far this season, but his coach is apparently furious as he struggles to shed the pounds after over indulging during the off-season.

Speaking in his press conference, Mihajlovic said:

“He’s not fit [Lopez] and is suffering because he is overweight.

“It is because of this that the work we do is hard for him. He must lose weight.”

The Serbian then went a step further, comparing the amount of weight the Argentinian is carrying to a washing machine:

“I spoke with Maxi Lopez. When someone is seven kilos overweight, which is like having a washing machine on his back, and he can play like he did at Bergamo [in a 2-1 defeat to Atalanta], he has that class.

“But I am angry with him and he should be angry with himself. I told him that unless he loses weight, he will not play.

Lopez, 32, spent two seasons at the Nou Camp, before moving to FC Moscow, Catania, AC Milan Sampdoria, and finally Torino.
