Video: Celtic Kid Jack Aitchison Scores Beautiful Solo Goal v Barcelona Youths

Celtic fans would love to see one of their men do what Jack Aitchison did against Barcelona‘s young players when they take on Barca’s superstars tonight.

The Hoops are in the Spanish city ahead of their Champions League opener against Luis Enrique’s men later.

But it was the development squad who took on Barca first as they went head to head in the UEFA Youth League at the Mini Estadi this afternoon.

Barca are renowned for producing some of the best players in Europe through their La Masia youth academy, including Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Lionel Messi.

And even though they beat Celtic 2-1, Hoops fans will be more impressed by the goal scored by young Aitchison as his side tried to fight back in the second half after falling two goals behind.

The goal

Taking the ball on the left flank, Aitchison sprinted at the Barca defence before cutting in past three defenders to fire home:

Aitchison will obviously be well known to Celtic fans after he came off the bench on his debut in the final game of last season to score with his first touch of the ball.

He’s not been near Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI since, but if he can keep scoring goals like this then it won’t be too long until he’s knocking on the door of the Northern Irishman’s office.

We’ve got a Celtic fan and a Rangers man in as guests to look back on the big result at Parkhead, plus much more from the SPFL:
