Video: Mayo-Man and Best Friend Creates Brilliant Rap Song Ahead of All-Ireland Final

The All-Ireland Senior Football Final of 2016 is later today, with Mayo playing Dublin in this highly-anticipated clash, to pull the curtain down on the 2016 Championship season.

It’s well known throughout the GAA community that Sam Maguire is Gaelic Football’s prestigious prize.

It’s also well known that the county of Mayo is long overdue this prize and has been given the comical social media trend #MayoForSam in the hope to achieve this success.

Mayo last won the All-Ireland Final in 1951.  This is meant to be looked back as a historic and successful period for the Connacht-natives, however it has been known to be called ‘the curse of 51’.

The curse remains unbroken.  The team will have now reached eight All-Ireland Senior Football Finals, they have either completely collapsed on the day or been undone by a series of other unfortunate events.

Can they win on their eighth attempt?

So this year a Mayo-man and his best friend have created a rap song titled ‘In the name of Mayo’ dedicated to the loyal fans of Mayo who are 65 years waiting for Sam to return to their great County.

Wonder if this rap song can be the watershed moment for the team and end Mayo’s long awaited 65 years drought? Let’s all get on board!!! #MayoForSam #InTheNameOfMayo
