Video: Watford’s Odion Ighalo Misses Incredible Open Goal Against Man Utd

Manchester United were given an incredible let-off during their game with Watford earlier this afternoon, as Odion Ighalo somehow managed to miss an open goal from all of 18 yards.

Looking to bounce back from last weekend’s derby defeat at home to Manchester City, Jose Mourinho’s men went to Vicarage Road knowing only three points would do.

And just 12 minutes into the match, the home side should have been ahead, but with David de Gea flailing and the goal gaping, Watford’s striker managed to come up what will surely go down as one of the most gilt-edged misses of the season:

He needn’t have worried, though, as Watford did eventually go ahead on 34 minutes through midfielder Etienne Capoue, after Anthony Martial had been robbed of possession just outside the penalty area.

But it could have been a whole lot worse for the Red Devils had Ighalo managed to find the back of the net.

What do you make of the miss?
