Real Madrid are reportedly keen to host Conor McGregor’s next UFC fight at the Santiago Bernabeu.
All six of McGregor’s last fights have been held in the US, however, with the UFC desperate to expand into Europe, an event held in Madrid’s 81,000 capacity stadium could be on the cards.
AS writer Álvaro Carrera has reported that McGregor may be interested, as a fight closer to Ireland would benefit his die-hard fans who have to travel across the world to watch him fight.
A spokesperson for the club told Irish radio station Newstalk that the club would, “be glad if we could make a UFC event; our stadium can hold more than 80.000 fans.”
However, if an event was to take place in Madrid, it would most likely have to wait until the La Liga giants had concluded their season, making a summer pay-per-view a real possibility.
It wouldn’t be the first time the Dublin-born fighter has been linked to the club, as during the summer he spent time hanging out with Cristiano Ronaldo.
