AC Milan defender Gabriel Paletta might want to stay away from the internet for the next few days.
The 30-year-old centre back was given his marching orders 10 minutes after half time following one of the most ridiculous challenges you’re likely to see this season.
With AC Milan trailing 1-0 to Genoa in their midweek Serie A clash the last thing Vincenzo Montella would have wanted was to see his side reduced to ten men.
But that’s exactly what happened as former Liverpool man Paletta was sent for an early bath following a seriously late lunge on Luca Rigoni.
Paletta’s red card clearly took its toll as Genoa went on to win 3-0 with an own goal from Juraj Kucka and strike from Leonardo Pavoletti adding to Nikola Ninković’s earlier goal.
The defeat means Milan lost out on the chance to go top of Serie A following their shock 1-0 win over Juventus on Saturday evening.
