The 25-year-old returned from his summer break sporting the new style which, understandably, got him a little bit of stick.
But his form this season has been excellent, with four goals in eight appearances for the Reds so far, and another goal was added to his tally for Brazil in the 5-0 thrashing of Bolivia on Thursday night.
And following the emphatic victory, Firmino revealed that his style was inspired by singer Wesley Safadao and the fans in Brazil seem to be loving it.
According to the Liverpool Echo, when Firmino was brought on from the subs’ bench on Thursday night, the crowd started chanting ‘Go Safadao’, and afterwards Firmino was quoted as saying: “I’m a big fan of Wesley Safadão, my hair is a tribute to him.
“The fans screaming his name when I touch the ball made me happy.”
So, there you have it – Firmino’s new hairstyle is all down to a South American crooner.
Although, we reckon Liverpool supporters couldn’t care less where it comes from or why it’s styled that way – as long as he keeps finding the back of the net!
What do you make of the haircut, and Firmino’s admission?
