Sergio Aguero has been dropped for Manchester City‘s crucial Champions League trip to Barcelona tonight, in a match which is likely to decide which club finishes top of the group.
The Argentinian striker has been in sensational form this season, bagging 11 goals already, but will be on the bench for City in the Nou Camp, after manager Pep Guardiola apparently decided to play with Kevin De Bruyne as a false 9.

Of course, De Bruyne isn’t a bad option to have up top, and the likes of David Silva, Sterling and Nolito are capable of causing any team problems.
But considering the mite of Barcelona, and Aguero’s ability to seemingly score at will, a lot of supporters reckon Pep might have dropped a bit a clanger with his team selection:
@ManCity haha great banter lads now what's the real lineup

Only Pep would drop Aguero and play 6 midfielders. This is what we signed up for…

Still cannot get my head around as to why Aguero is on the bench, but i'm looking forward to see De Bruyne upfront

Pep benched Aguero in the EPL and a great deal of us thought he was saving him for Barca. He still is benched.

Going to the Nou Camp and benching Aguero. Like setting up a Tinder profile and actually being honest about yourself in the bio.” ????????

What do you think of the news?
Even if Aguero is carrying an injury, surely he’s worth taking a gamble on, if he’s fit enough for the bench?
