Manchester United fans are pretty excited that Bastian Schweinsteiger is back in first team training.
The German legend hasn’t kicked a ball for the club and has been training away from the top team since Jose Mourinho took over as manager in the summer.
It was thought he would move on before the end of the summer transfer window, but he stuck around hoping that he’d be able to prove himself to the Portuguese gaffer.
And Schweinsteiger might now be on the way to doing that after being introduced back into training this morning by Mourinho.
United haven’t made a big deal of the news, but it’s clear to see, when looking at training pictures released by the club’s Twitter account, that he’s involved:

Schweinsteiger was a favourite among fans despite his United career being beset by injuries since signing from Bayern Munich in July last year.
Mourinho obviously didn’t fancy him as he turned up at Old Trafford and has instead leaned on Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Morgan Schneiderlin in midfield so far this season.
But today’s move suggests there may be a change in his United squad status – and fans are excited:
United play against Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday, but Schweinsteiger isn’t registered for that competition so will have to settle for domestic football if he’s to make a surprise return to the team.
United fans – is this a sign? Does Schweini still have a future at the club?
