Twice named the NBA’s most valuable player, Nash was in London on Thursday to train with Spurs, the club he’s trained with all of his life, and was seen kicking a few balls around with the Danish international.
This isn’t the first time the Canadian-born basketball star has been given the opportunity to get up close and personal with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, having joined in with the north London club twice before.
And speaking to the Evening Standard, Nash was in no doubt as to who the most talented player at White Hart Lane is: “Christian Eriksen for me is one of the best, obviously I’m a little biased, but it would be hard to argue with him being a top playmaker in the league.
“I’ve been fortunate to train with Spurs three times, spanning 17 years or so.
“Coming back to train with David Ginola was one of my all-time favourites and was amazing, we’ve remained friends. Ledley King is a legend and a hero for everyone in my family.
“To be out there two years ago and today with Harry (Kane) and Dele Alli, what a squad top to bottom! It is fantastic to see the quality we have now and how entertaining they are and how hard-working and professional they are.”
Despite signing a lucrative new contract just last month, Eriksen has endured a slow start to the season, having managed just two goals in the EFL Cup and none in the Premier League.
Perhaps he just needs Nash on the touchline giving him pep talks to spur him on.
