Predicting Celtic XI For Cup Semi-Final v Rangers

Everyone at Celtic will be hoping they can record a similar performance to the one which got them a 5-1 victory against Rangers last month.

Brendan Rodgers’ side made a big statement in the first of the fixture in this campaign, with Moussa Dembele netting a hat-trick alongside goals from Scott Sinclair and Stuart Armstrong.

But eight games have passed since then, including a huge 3-3 draw with Manchester City and a 2-0 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.

Rodgers has been staying loyal to the team which got them their win over Rangers in September, but last night’s result suggests changes may be made.

Here we look at what those could be:

Definite starters: Craig Gordon, Kieran Tierney, Mikael Lustig, Erik Sviatchenko, Kolo Toure, Nir Bitton, Scott Brown, Tom Rogic, Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele.

Patrick Roberts over James Forrest

The one and only change for us comes at right midfield where Patrick Roberts should replace James Forrest. Why? Well, it may be slightly harsh on Forrest considering he’s been in the form of his life under Rodgers. But that seems to have dried up recently and Roberts’ impact off the bench against Gladbach last night would have reminded everyone just how good he is after a spell as a substitute. Rodgers could potentially make more changes at the weekend, but making wholesale changes after a loss probably isn’t his idea of good man management. So it’s Forrest out and Roberts in for us. The rest stays the same.
