The Croatian midfielder has struggled for form and fitness ever since arriving in Glasgow on a two-year deal in the summer, and hasn’t always been an automatic pick for manager Mark Warburton despite his undoubted class and ability on the ball.
But, in the last two weeks or so, Kranjcar appeared to be finally showing his old classy self, particularly in the 1-0 win at Inverness last weekend.
However, according to the Press Association, Kranjcar’s season may have been cruelly cut short after he injured knee ligaments in training on Tuesday.
The play-maker is definitely out of Sunday’s League Cup semi-final against Celtic at Hampden, and could be on the injury table for the foreseeable future – much to this lot’s frustration:

Kranjcar now being injured now emphasises how badly we've handled the Joey Barton, situation.

Bad news about Kranjcar if it is indeed his cruciate. Was steadily coming into his own within the team. Hope it's not season ending ??

How big a blow could that be to Rangers’ hopes of winning on Sunday? And for their hopes for the rest of the campaign?
Will Kranjcar be missed?
