Patrick Roberts has recreated some of Lionel Messi‘s greatest ever Champions League goals.
The Celtic winger – on loan from Manchester City – is one of Europe’s most highly rated young players so it was no surprise to see him recently given Messi’s backing through an adidas campaign for the Barcelona star.
Adidas have marked that by getting Roberts to recreate some Messi magic on the training pitch ahead of match day 3 in the Champions League.
And it will have Hoops fans hoping he can produce some magic of his own when their team faces Borussia Monchengladbach at Celtic Park on Wednesday night.
Roberts takes on Messi’s beauty against Real Madrid back in 2011 before nailing memorable strikes against Bayern Munich and AC Milan:

Roberts has earned comparisons to Messi for his style of play and strong performances in the Champions League will only lead to more of those in the future.
It’s likely he’ll start on the bench when Celtic face Monchengladbach on Wednesday night, but expect him to make an impact as a substitute later in the game.
