Derek McInnes Hammered by Fans Over BT Sport Interview

Derek McInnes has been hammered by a lot of Scottish football fans after his BT Sport post-match interview.

The Aberdeen manager led his side to a hard-fought 2-1 win away at Partick Thistle last night.

They had taken the lead in the match through Anthony O’Connor’s strike, but were pegged back early in the second half through Adam Barton’s header.

Fortunately for the Dons, their lead was restored minutes later when Jayden Stockley brilliantly chipped Thistle goalie Thorsten Stuckmann for a goal which turned out to be the winner.

But it was a close game which could have ended up being a draw had the hosts got a penalty when Abdul Osman was brought down in the box under the challenge of Stockley.

Referee Bobby Madden waved play on, despite replays showing that there was some contact on the Thistle captain.

And that incident was brought up with Aberdeen boss McInnes in his post-match interview:

As you can see, McInnes doesn’t react well to the line of questioning from BT Sport reporter Eilidh Barbour and appears to mutter something as he exits the interview.

Reaction

While some believe he was right to react that way, more believe he was out of order in his reaction and treatment of the reporter:

What’s your view? Was McInnes out of order?
