Gruesome Photo of Philippe Coutinho’s Leg Suggests Injury Could Be Really Serious

Liverpool‘s star player Philippe Coutinho was forced to go off injured against Sunderland this afternoon and a picture has emerged online suggesting that he could be out for a very long time.

The Brazilian international was left writhing in pain on the Anfield turf just half-an-hour into the Premier League fixture with Sunderland this afternoon, and had to be lifted off the field in stretcher.

The scene didn’t look good, and had Liverpool fans fearing the worst, and this snap from Twitter showing Coutinho’s leg bent out of shape and twisted beyond all recognition won’t make supporters feel much better:

It’s actually tough to decipher exactly what’s going on in the image above, but one thing’s for sure: it doesn’t look good.

Coutinho was wearing a leg brace as he was carried away – do you think he’ll be on the sidelines for a prolonged period?
