John McGinn has told Hibs fans he hopes to be back “in no time” after his ankle operation.
The Easter Road midfielder underwent surgery on his left ankle on Wednesday.
The Scotland cap – who was included in Gordon Strachan’s squad for the World Cup qualification defeat against England – could now face up to 12 weeks on the sidelines as he recovers.
Feeling Positive
But he didn’t waste any time in reassuring fans with an encouraging message on Instagram after the procedure – from his hospital bed.
The 22-year-old Hibees star gave a thumbs up, saying: “Operation a success. Hopefully a speedy recovery and back in no time.”

McGinn’s lengthy lay-off, which will see him out until early 2017, comes as a huge blow to boss Neil Lennon and his promotion bid with the Hibees this season.
His league leaders return to Scottish Championship duty when they visit second place Dundee United on December 2 at Tannadice.
