After cementing his place in the Gunners’ starting line-up, and breaking into the Spain squad, the 21-year-old right-back has put pen-to-paper on a six-and-a-half year contract thought to be worth in the region of £100,000 per week.
You would’ve thought that Arsenal fans everywhere would be rejoicing at the news, and most of them are.
However, there’s still quite a few cynics who are convinced the news is nothing more than a smokescreen before Bellerin is punted to La Liga over the next year or so.
There’s just no pleasing some people:
Hector Bellerin signs a new "long term contract" at Arsenal, he'll be off to Barcelona soon then.

Hector Bellerin signs a new contract at @Arsenal. They'll at least get a decent fee from Barcelona now.

Wonder what Bellerin's release clause is? Any idea @FCBarcelona?
— 90min (@90min_Football) November 21, 2016
Arsenal fans happy Bellerin signed a new contract, Wenger probably put in a decent release clause for Barca so he isn't held accountable

Awkward when Bellerin has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave to Barca for £20 mil below his buy-out clause…

What's the chances that Bellerin's new contract has a Barca related clause in there for the summer..
— Alex Willson (@AlexPw90) November 21, 2016
New contract for Bellerin but can honestly see either Barca or Madrid meeting his release clause before he spends 6.5 years there #afc

That long term bellerin deal just confirms bellerin to Barcelona in September to me.
— modern (@StraightGenes) November 21, 2016
I was at most certain Bellerin could be leaving for Barcelona after we bottled another season.
Not to mention Barca's VP sneaking aswell
— Römeo (@Arsenal490304) November 21, 2016
What do you think? Would Bellerin have signed a new contract if he still had intentions of leaving? Are some supporters right to be sceptical?
