Jamie Carragher Has Sly Dig at Everton in Philippe Coutinho Debate

Jamie Carragher has had a sly dig at Everton while discussing whether or not Philippe Coutinho is the best player in the English Premier League.

The Liverpool legend watched on, like the rest of us, as Jurgen Klopp’s men ripped apart Watford in the first half of their Premier League clash at Anfield.

Sadio Mane got their opener as he headed home a brilliant cross from Philippe Coutinho before the Brazilian slammed home a great goal of his own to make it 2-0. Emre Can has since headed in a third before the break.

But it’s all about Coutinho, who has been majestic so far in the game.

After seeing the little magician score Liverpool’s second, Carragher asked his Twitter followers if the former Inter man was the best player in the league:

It’s hard to disagree with Carragher – but some fans did, with one citing Eden Hazard as the best player.

Hazard was unplayable as Chelsea smashed Everton at Stamford Bridge last night, but Carragher isn’t sure it should count – as it was against Liverpool’s rivals:

The debate was soon ended, with Carra saying that abuse from Arsenal fans over the lack of mention for Mesut Ozil had come his way:

But we’ll continue it anyway – who is the best player in the English Premier League?
