Jurgen Klinsmann Sacked By USA…and Now Everyone Thinks He’ll Get England Job

Jurgen Klinsmann has been sacked as manager of the USA national team – leading to speculation on social media that he could be thrown into the mix for the England job.

The former Germany coach took over in 2011 and steered the Americans to the last-16 of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

However, defeats to Costa Rica and rivals Mexico have left the States’ chances of reaching the next World Cup in Russia in pearl, as they currently sit bottom of six-team group containing Honduras and Panama.

However, Klinsmann has something of an affinity with English football having won the PFA Player of the Year Award during his time with Tottenham in the 1990s.

Interim manager Gareth Southgate seemed an absolute certainty to take the reins before Klinsmann’s sacking, but now a lot of onlookers seem to think Southgate might have competition:

What do you think of the speculation? Is there any way Klinsmann could gazump Southgate and land England’s top job?
