Liverpool Fans Are Absolutely Gutted as Philippe Coutinho Picks Up Nasty Injury

Liverpool fans were left absolutely gutted and fearing for their season’s ambitions this afternoon after star player Philippe Coutinho picked up a nasty-looking injury against Sunderland.

The Brazilian midfielder has cemented his status as of Jurgen Klopp’s most important players after putting in consistently brilliant performances in the Premier League over the last two seasons.

In fact, the 24-year-old former Inter Milan play-maker has been one of the Reds’ most creative forces this season, having scored six goals in 13 games so far.

But after half-an-hour at Anfield today, Coutinho sustained a nasty-looking knock following a collision with Black Cats midfielder Didier Ndong.

It was apparently so severe that not only could Countiho not continue, but he had to be lifted from the pitch in a stretcher. The scene left a lot of Liverpool fans fearing the worst:

How big a blow is Coutinho’s misfortune to Liverpool’s season? Could they still challenge for the title without him?
