Philippe Coutinho Says Luis Suarez is Very Happy With Liverpool

Philippe Coutinho has revealed Luis Suarez is very happy with Liverpool‘s progress under Jurgen Klopp.

The Brazilian playmaker met up with his former team-mate earlier this week as Barcelona were in Manchester for their Champions League group stage clash with City.

While some might say that meeting had something to do with a future Barca move for Coutinho, it was really just two friends coming together at a convenient time.

Suarez got the chance to meet Coutinho’s daughter while catching up with his old pal, and the Uruguayan also told of his admiration for how Liverpool are progressing under Klopp.

The Reds currently sit joint top of the English Premier League table after 10 games and have been playing some seriously impressive football to boot.

According to Coutinho, Suarez is among their admirers. The little magician told liverpoolfc.com: “It was very good – it is always nice to see Luis.

“He is a very close friend, but to be honest this happened because three friends of mine asked for tickets to watch the match!

“I met with him, we hugged each other and he saw my daughter again. He had the opportunity to come back to Liverpool to visit previously and meet my daughter, so we got together again this time and took some pictures. It was very nice.

“He is very happy. He has a very big passion for this football club and follows us from a distance, so he is very happy with our journey so far and supports us from there.”

That will make good reading for Liverpool fans who would have worried about their team the day Suarez left for Barcelona in 2014.

Brendan Rodgers was their manager then and had just led Liverpool to second in the table after a close title race with Manchester City and Chelsea.

They were unable to cope with the loss of Suarez and have only now managed to begin challenging at the top of the league a year after Klopp became their new manager.

As for Coutinho, he’s playing the type of football which could see him attract the attention of Barcelona in the future.
