A Lot Of Rangers Fans Are Glad To See Joey Barton Stay At The Club

Rangers have confirmed that Joey Barton will remain at club.

The Gers midfielder has been suspended for over a month following his training ground bust-up with team-mate Andy Halliday.

And in the wake of his fall-out with boss Mark Warburton, Barton was also charged by the SFA after it was alleged that he had broken betting rules by placing money on 44 matches.

The 34-year-old midfielder held showdown talks at Ibrox last week, after which he was suspended “indefinitely”.

But the Light Blues have announced that the former Burnley star has been given the go-ahead to return to full-time training with the first team.

The Englishman’s Gers career got off to a slow start in the opening weeks of the season as Barton struggled to find form.

And his last performance for Warburton’s side was in the 5-1 mauling at the hands of Celtic on September 10.

In Barton’s absence, results on the pitch have improved steadily, with the Gers winning three of their last four Scottish Premiership matches.

The news that Barton will return to the Auchenhowie training complex has been met with mixed reaction from Rangers fans on social media.

Some believe that the ex-Newcastle star’s presence could prove to be a hindrance for the rest of the team:

Surprisingly, more Rangers fans were actually happy to hear Barton would be returning – and believe it could be the start of a rebirth in Glasgow:
