Gordon Strachan has drafted in Blackburn defender Charlie Mulgrew for Friday’s World Cup qualifier against England at Wembley – and the Tartan Army don’t seem best pleased at the decision…
The addition of Mulgrew comes after Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam blasted Gordon Strachan last night and accused the Scotland boss of favouritism and a lack of communication.
Adam claimed that his face doesn’t fit in Strachan’s plans for the national team and that the ex-Celtic manager has treated Lee Wallace and Oliver Burke equally poorly.
However, that criticism clearly hasn’t affected Strachan, as he’s now called up Mulgrew who has struggled with injury since the start of the season.
It’s understood that the 30-year-old has been brought into the fold as a precaution, after his Blackburn teammate Gordon Greer suffered a knock in training.
Is the addition of Mulgrew another example of Strachan picking his favourite players in favour of more talented options?
Or is the Scotland boss simply looking to fill the team with with more experienced players for the crunch match against Gareth Southgate’s team?
Twitter has had its say:
@ScottishFA nothing against Charlie mulgrew but is this really the future of our team? #WeAreScotland

Charlie Mulgrew has played 90 minutes once this season. Gordon Strachan has called up him for Scotland. Does Strachan still watch football?

Of all the players Strachan could call-up he's chosen to pick Charlie Mulgrew. It's no wonder we want to get rid of Strachan.
