Video: Arjen Robben Gets Tremendous Reception During His Return to PSV

Bayern Munich‘s Arjen Robben received a standing ovation from the PSV Eindhoven fans last night, as the winger made a successful return to the Philips Stadion.

Robben may have began his illustrious career at FC Groningen, but it was his two years at PSV that earned him a £12 million move to Chelsea in 2004.

Now playing his football for Bayern, Robben and his teammates were able to secure safe passage into the knockout stages with a 2-1 victory over the Dutch giants.

Not that the three points were enough to make Robben forget about his time at the Rood-witten, as he ran over to the PSV fans to a heroes reception after the final whistle:

However, the Holland international clearly wasn’t happy at being substituted during the game.

“It was a shame. In a game like this, you want to play 90 minutes. I was a little disappointed and a little angry too,” Robben told Sky Deutschland.

“He perhaps thinks differently. He’s probably thinking of my fitness, but I wasn’t injured.”
