Manchester City‘s Premier League title challenge received an unlikely dent in today’s early kick-off against Burnley, with Dean Marney coming up with a pretty slick finish.

Pep Guardiola’s side started the campaign in blistering form but have dropped some way short of their usual standards in recent weeks, and knew that defeat at Turf Moor could hand Liverpool the advantage they need to create a league at the summit of the table.

But it was a slow and ponderous start by City, who found themselves 1-0 behind after less than 15 minutes following Marney’s sweet and accurate first-time strike:

Not a bad finish, eh? Incredibly, that was Marney’s first goal for SEVEN YEARS but he put that away like he’s a regular goalscorer.

It remains to be seen whether Pep and his star-studded squad can muster up something by way of a reply – Burnley lost 4-0 to West Brom on Monday!

What do you make of the goal?
