Video: James Milner Recreates Gianfranco Zola’s Famous Flick Goal

James Milner recently recreated Gianfranco Zola‘s famous flick goal against Norwich back in 2002.

The Liverpool midfielder took part in BT Sport’s #GoalsRecreated feature, where current players try to score famous strikes from the past.

Riyad Mahrez, Dele Alli and Santi Cazorla are among those to have had a try at some memorable strikes – and Milner is the latest as he was given the task of recreating Zola’s sublime flick for Chelsea 14 years ago.

In case you’ve never seen it, Zola scored the backheel goal in a 4-0 win over Norwich in the FA Cup:

Milner will never be remembered for the silky skills that made Zola one of the best English Premier League players ever.

But he’s still good enough to recreate the goal, with the help of Divock Origi and Philippe Coutinho:

To be fair to Zola, Milner’s attempt isn’t quite as good as his – but it’s a decent effort.
