Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho sprung something of a surprise this evening by choosing to rest David de Gea and play back-up goalkeeper Sergio Romero in the Europa League match against Feyenoord, and the Argentine didn’t let him down.
United went into the tie having lost to the Dutch league leaders earlier in the competition and in need of three points to realistically keep their European campaign alive.
But after a bright start by United, Feyenoord began to find their feet and slowly came into the game.
After 25 minutes, they managed to manufacture their first serious chance and it really brought the best out of stand-in Romero:

Not too shabby, eh? We all know that de Gea is the first choice at Old Trafford, and will remain so, but it’s nice to know that Romero is up to the task if he’s ever called upon.
What do you make of the save?
