He might be synonymous with MMA and the UFC but there can be no mistaking where Conor McGregor‘s allegiances lie when it comes to football, as this clip shows.

The Irishman cemented his place in sporting history at UFC 205 in New York on Saturday night when he defeated Eddie Alvarez at Madison Square Garden to become the corporation’s first-ever two-weight world champion.

McGregor was a relative unknown back in 2013, but the past three years have catapulted him into superstar status, and his typical brash way of talking has left his army of fans with a thirst to hear from ‘The Notorious’ at just about every subject imaginable.

Hailing from the Republic, McGregor has spoken about playing football in his youth, and how it wasn’t really for him, but as this video from last year shows, he still admits to having a soft spot for the Scottish Premiership champions:

Maybe we’ll be seeing Conor sat next to Rod Stewart at Celtic’s upcoming Champions League match with Barcelona – who knows? Stranger things have happened!
