Zlatan Ibrahimovic Wants Manchester United to Sign Benfica’s Victor Lindelof

Manchester United have been advised to sign Benfica defender Victor Lindelof – by none other than their own striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Lindelof hails from Sweden, just like Ibrahimovic, and the 22-year-old centre-back is well known to United’s superstar forward.

According to the Metro, United have had scouts present at Benfica matches to watch Lindelof in recent months as his excellent form continued for the Portuguese club.

When asked for his thoughts on whether or not Lindelof is ready for a move to a club like Manchester United, Zlatan seemed confident he’d be up to the task.

Speaking via the Mirror, he said: “I think Victor is doing great things, he is playing good for Benfica, he gets a lot of responsibility for the national team now, he is growing.

“Is he good enough for United? I think he’s good enough for the big clubs out there. It’s up to him what he wants and what the situation says. Whatever he chooses will be good for him.

“I know he is hot on the market so let him make the right choice, what fits him good.”

As we told you earlier this week, United are widely thought to be in the market for a centre-back in the January transfer window, with Chris Smalling seemingly falling out of favour with Jose Mourinho.

And having played in the Portuguese league, in the Champions League, and for his country, Lindelof could be the very man to solve the Red Devils’ defensive issues.

What do you think of Ibra’s comments? Should United move for Lindelof?
