Airdrie have released their new home shirt and it really is a truly unique kit and definitely worth having for any collectors.
The Scottish League One side have announced a new five-figure sponsorship deal with the Airdrieonians Supporters’ Trust and they’ve taken the opportunity to dedicate the new strip to late supporter Mark Allison.
As the club explain on their website, Mark was a lifelong Airdrie fan and his family and friends were consulted before the decision was made to feature his face on underneath the Airdrie shirt’s famous diamond.

Airdrie also reckon it’s the first time in world football that a fan’s image has been featured on the front of his team’s kit and, frankly, we can’t think of any examples to contradict them.
Before his passing, Mark was comforted by the St. Andrew’s Hospice and Maggies Centre and both organisations will benefit from the deal in the shape of advertising around Airdrie’s stadium and match-day programme.
We’re not sure who came up with this idea but whoever they are they’ve outdone themselves.
What an absolutely fitting tribute!
