The veteran midfielder, now 37, is still on the books at MLS side New York City FC, having just represented the club in the American play-offs.
With the US season now in limbo until March, Pirlo is at a bit of a loose end until February at the very earliest and it seems he’s decided to spend a bit of time in London:

Now, this could be an entirely innocent trip to do a bit of shopping, see a West End show and spend a bit of time with his family.
But the blue heart emoji at the end of his caption – plus his long history with current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte – has managed to get a few Blues fans hoping he could be on the cusp of a short-term deal.
