Birmingham City shocked fans everywhere today as they announced that Gary Rowett had been dismissed as manager of the club.
Rowett took charge of the Championship side in October 2014 during difficult times on and off the park with the club in financial trouble and on the brink of relegation.
Since then he has steadied the ship and taken the club to seventh place in the Championship after winning nine of his opening 21 matches this season.
But the club dropped a bombshell on their supporters this morning as they announced that the 42-year-old had left the club.
Rumours shortly began to emerge over who would be the next man to take charge of City with Gianfranco Zola leading the pack and only a matter of hours later, the Italian was announced as the club’s new boss.

The majority of supporters then took to Twitter to share their frustration at the way their former boss had been treated with some branding the club a disgrace.
@BCFC the way the club have treated both rowett and the fans is nothing short of a disgrace

@BCFC disgusting, Same day we sack Rowett too. How long have you strung Rowett along for, while conspiring against him and the team?

@BCFC this whole situation is like sacking a builder because he couldn't reach the roof, but you only gave him a box to stand on.

@BCFC An embarrassing day for the club.
