Kieran Tierney and Greg Taylor are among the most active players under the age of 20 in European football.
The pair, both 19, have been standouts for Celtic and Kilmarnock respectively this season – and have now made football-observatory.com’s list of the most active players born after January 1st 1997 in Europe’s top leagues.
You’d think Tierney would actually top the list – but he’s out injured at the moment and that may explain why he’s placed higher than Taylor on the list.
The Hoops full-back was ruled out for two months back in October after injuring his ankle ligaments in training so he’s placed at 69th having played 67% of Celtic games.
Taylor, on the other hand, is ranked 47th having played 76% of games for Lee Clark’s Kilmarnock side this campaign – quickly emerging as a very important player in his first full season as a top team player.
If Scotland is to produce top talent for the national team then maybe there should be more than just two of our players under 20 who are making this list.
