All of the fuss surrounding Rangers striker Joe Garner and the club’s supporters bidding to help ‘Glad All Over’ to the Christmas No.1 spot has been put firmly in its place by ex-Celtic striker Chris Sutton.
As anyone with a passing interest in Scottish football will know, Sutton has cemented his place as one of the country’s most forthright – and probably brutal – broadcasting pundits.
And after it was revealed that The Dave Clark Five’s tune, which has been modified by Gers fans to praise Garner, had failed to land the festive top spot, Sutton decided to really stick the boot in and give his take on the subject.
You won’t be surprised to know he’s not really a fan:
Garner doing ok now! But this Xmas number one thing. Do me a favour! He has more bookings than goals… https://t.co/HG75Es52gq

For the record, Sutton is actually right, Garner does have more bookings than goals, with five yellow cards to his name and just three goals.
Still, has Sutton ever inspired a top-10 record? Didn’t think so!
