Lukas Podolski’s Song Reaches No.1 in the German Charts

Lukas Podolski’s Song Reaches No.1 in the German Charts

Former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski was given unexpected reason to celebrate yesterday after a song he features in managed to top the charts in Germany.

The German international is going through something of a dry patch at the moment, having managed just three league goals since the start of the season for current club Galatasary.

But it seems his prowess for scoring goals has been replaced by an ability to conquer the music scene.

The 31-year-old World Cup winner has been in the recording studio with rappers Mo-Torres and the band Cat Ballou to help record ‘Liebe deine Stadt’ (‘Love Your City’).

And the tune has beaten off competition to become the most downloaded song in Germany over the past seven days.

Podolski can be seen trying to look ever so cool in the song’s video below and whilst our German isn’t the greatest, we’d be lying if we said it wasn’t slightly catchy:

What do you think of the song? And should Podolski be spending more time focusing on football rather than recording songs?
