Sergi Roberto Slams Real Madrid as “Lucky” For Leading La Liga Title Race

Barcelona star Sergi Roberto has described Real Madrid as being “lucky” in their bid to reclaim the La Liga title.

The Bernabeu club currently sit top of the league, three points ahead of their bitter rivals Barca, and are yet to lose a game this season.

However, Sergi Roberto believes that Zinedine Zidane’s side have been lucky with recent results, following four consecutive domestic victories.

The right back told RAC 1, via Four Four Two, ”

“I think that they have had a bit of luck so far.

“They have been scoring goals in the last minute.

“A game doesn’t end until the final whistle, of course, and you can score then, but there have been a lot of games when they’ve been drawing and end up scoring in the last minute through a free kick or a corner.

“But for us it’s positive mentally to end the year three points behind Madrid in the league. It’s good to go into the break with a win. We’re back in good form.”

Roberto also made his obligatory ‘Messi is better than Ronaldo’ comment,

“He is the best player in history. You can’t compare him [with Cristiano Ronaldo].

“Beyond the Ballon d’Or, everyone knows that Messi is the best. He’s light years ahead.”

Barcelona are back in action today, as they host Hercules in the Copa del Rey.
