Cameron Brannagan scored a lovely chip for Liverpool’s Under 23 side tonight.
The 20-year-old midfielder made the breakthrough into Jurgen Klopp’s first team last season, but hasn’t been involved at all so far this term.
So only strong performances in training and for the club’s development side will help him get back in the German manager’s plans.
And he’s doing the latter tonight as Liverpool go up against West Brom in the Premier League Cup.
With 10 minutes to go, Brannagan – who made nine top team appearances last term – latched on to Sheyi Ojo’s pass in the box to brilliantly dink over the goalkeeper and tie the game up at 1-1:
Great goal by Brannagan for U23s. Nice assist by Ojo! pic.twitter.com/ZeMu5hjP4x

That’s the kind of quality in the final third that Klopp and the Liverpool fans will be looking for from young attackers at the club.
Meanwhile, the majority of the Reds first team squad are in Barcelona for a bonding session after their 4-3 defeat at Bournemouth at the weekend. They’ve taken in Barca’s Champions League clash against Borussia Monchengladbach tonight and will head back to Merseyside later this week ahead of their Premier League fixture with West Ham on Sunday.
