Celtic youngster Theo Archibald scored a stunning goal against Manchester City in the UEFA Youth League this afternoon.
The Hoops development squad are in Manchester alongside the top team as they go up against City’s best young players.
Considering the English outfit beat them 4-0 in Glasgow back in September, it was certain to be a tough challenge for Tommy McIntyre’s side.
But they’ve looked more than up for it, holding their own at City’s Academy Stadium despite losing 3-2.
Mikey Johnston got the opener after Kristoffer Ajer was fouled in the box in the first half before Archibald’s moment of magic made it 2-0 to the Hoops:
Unfortunately for Celtic, they weren’t able to hold on to that two-goal lead and conceded goals from Rodney Kongolo and Jadon Sancho to make it 2-2 before Lorenzo Gonzalez hit a late winner.
That means McIntyre’s youngsters finish the campaign bottom of their group with just two points from six games.
But this performance against City suggests there’s plenty of great young talent in Celtic’s ranks.
