Video: Liverpool Keeper Simon Mignolet Slaughtered For Conceding Stoke Goal

Simon Mignolet was recalled to the Liverpool first-team a couple of weeks ago after Loris Karius’s form dipped, but the Belgian threw in a howler of his own this afternoon – and was absolutely hammered for it.

Mignolet was chosen to start between the sticks for the Reds against Stoke City at Anfield, and it wasn’t too long before he was at the centre of controversy.

After a healthy spell of pressure from the visitors, striker Jon Walters powered a header towards Mignolet’s goal from an awkward angle, but despite it being a decent effort, you’d definitely expect the goalie to save it.

However, to the horror of Liverpool fans watching, Mignolet could only parry the ball into the back of his own net:

As you can imagine, the goal really didn’t go down well with fans – and Mignolet has probably never been less popular:

What do you think of the goal? Was it really that bad?
