Video: Liverpool’s Sadio Mane Scores Again in the African Cup of Nations

Liverpool striker Sadio Mane is continuing to prove his worth to the cause – but for Senegal, rather than his club.

The former Southampton man is out in Gabon competing in the African Cup of Nations for the country of his birth, which is why he’s missed the last few Liverpool games, including this week’s FA Cup win over Plymouth.

And he showed Reds fans exactly what they’ve been missing whilst he’s been away, as he scored his second goal of the tournament in a 2-0 win over Zimbabwe:

As you can see, Mane has definitely taken his pace with him to Africa, but he was just lucky he didn’t run straight into the post!

And whilst Liverpool supporters will no doubt be delighted to see their star man doing well, the win means Senegal are one of the first nations to qualify for the quarter-finals – meaning Mane’s stay in Gabon will be extended a little longer.

How much has Jurgen Klopp missed him?
