We’re not the biggest fans of tattoos here at talkingbaws but we’re willing to make an exception for Hull forward Abel Hernandez and his brilliant ink of the Brazilian legend Ronaldo.
The Uruguayan striker is the Premier League strugglers second-top scorer this season with just four goals in his 16 appearances so far, and perhaps his drastic tribute to the now-retired former Real Madrid and Inter Milan superstar is a way of trying to inspire himself to score more goals.
Hernandez showed off the tattoo during Thursday night’s EFL Cup semi-final against Manchester United, after coming on as a second-half substitute:
As you can see, the image the 26-year-old has gone for is Ronaldo at the peak of his powers; with his shaved head and infectious buck-tooth smile.
Having won the World Cup, three World Player of the Year awards and two Ballon d’Or trophies, it’s not hard to understand why Hernandez is in such awe of the great man.
What do you think of the tattoo?
