Arsenal Fans Don’t Seem Too Happy About Francis Coquelin’s New Deal

Arsenal have announced that three of their senior players have signed new contacts this afternoon, but it’s not the players fans were hoping for, and some supporters are pretty underwhelmed with Francis Coquelin signing a new deal.

As has been well documented over the past few months, the Gunners’ star players Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are currently in the midst of negotiating renewals with the north London club, with their current deals due to expire in 2018.

But today, it was French trio Oliver Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Coquelin who were presented to the media in front of a grinning Arsene Wenger, rather than Ozil and Sanchez.

Understandably, fans are frustrated with the situation, and it appears  Coquelin has taken the brunt of the anger:

Poor guy.

Coquelin’s new deal takes him up to 2021,and whilst he’s definitely evolved into one of Arsenal’s most consistent players, it’s fair to say fans would probably swap this news for Ozil or Sanchez renewing.

What do you make of the reaction?
