Celtic’s Erik Sviatchenko Looks More Like Jorge Cadete in Throwback Picture

Celtic defender Erik Svianchenko looks more like a Hoops hero from the past in his latest throwback picture, with the flowing locks of Jorge Cadete springing to mind.

Centre-back Sviatchenko has become something of a cult hero to the Celtic fan-base since arriving in Scotland in January 2016, and his performances both domestically and in Europe have proved his worth to Brendan Rodgers’ team.

It’s just as well that his stock is so high because few people could get away with posting a throwback picture of his ridiculous haircut from a when he was a lot younger:

Now THAT is a barnet – and like we said before, it immediately reminded us of Portuguese striker Cadete, who thrilled the Parkhead crowd back in the 1996/97 season by scoring 30 league goals in 37 league matches.

Perhaps if Sviatchenko were to grow his hair back he’d perhaps be able to replicate Cadete’s incredible scoring ratio.

Just a thought.
