And while the 21-year-old has struggled during his recent loan stint at La Liga side Granada, playing just five games, Rangers fans have reason to be excited about a move for the talented Spaniard.
Toral is a graduate from Barcelona’s fabled La Masia training complex.
However after failing to make the jump to the senior squads, Toral joined Arsenal in 2011, in a deal which also brought Hector Bellerin to the Emirates.
While Bellerin has made a seamless transition into Arsene Wenger’s first team, Toral has been somewhat of a journeyman, being sent out on loan to Brentford, Birmingham City and finally Granada.
Not that Toral’s CV of moving around should worry the Rangers fans.
So, lets get to it, five reasons why Gers fans should see any deal which brings Toral to Ibrox as a no-brainer:
1. He Can Bring a Spark
Mark Warburton’s side has often been criticised for lacking a spark going forward this season, with Rangers scoring just 13 goals in their last 10 games.
The transition from keeping hold of the ball to getting an effort on target and scoring a goal has been one this team is currently struggling with – and something Toral would surely help with.
Niko Kranjcar was clearly brought in to solve this problem, however with the Croatian out for the season, Rangers have struggled to cut teams open as easily as the fans would like.
Toral’s arrival would go some way toward solving this problem, especially if he can replicate the electric form he showed at Birmingham City during the 15/16 season.
